Rebar has some awlfully cool features, but if I were to EDC it would need to have the crosscut & diamond file in it. However I prefer the comfort of the Charge TTi, even though it is heavier. And would want the S30V steel too, that be hard pressed to give up!
Have seen various mods of the tools, but I gotta have an awl. Prefer the thread-loop option. Also prefer the large bit driver, but one is quite enough. I like and use the can opener, but not keen on flathead or fixed Phillips drivers.
With a Climber can get past noit having scissors.
Noticed that the pliers head of the Rebar is more square, probably to add to the structural integrity as compared to the Charge TTi. Am wondering if some metal can be removed from the Rebar pliers to fit around an awl (in place of the flathead) and around the scissors.
If only there was a Surge the size of the Charge and eliminate the need to modify everything. Well... 'cept maybe replacing the flathead drivers.
How tough is the metal on the Rebar pliers? Would probably require diamond coated tungsten-carbide bits and oil or air blasted cooling?
Now to do the opposite mod, the large bit driver could replace the Phillps driver providing there is enough room depth wise. Can opener could replace a flathead, and a small bit driver for the other flathead. The file would require shape change.
Good thing I do not have the spare tools to try a Charbar mod.
