I am at Copenhagen Airport for a 5 hour stop soon. The shop is only 30-40 mins away, I reckon I can make it and this was fate helping with my new obsession. It would beat sitting there for hours and I handily have some krone leftover from a few years ago.

Problem is I have the girlfriend with me. So while she has been at work today I have cleaned most of the house and brought some flowers.

Okay...   I got a reply to my email about postage to Australia, and I would think from their reply that this applies to postage anywhere else too...

"we ship anywhere..
Just order in the danish shop  ...  choose creditcard payment and Post Danmrk as means of transport
The deducted sales tax will compensate for the postage..
regards
"

On the strength of this I ordered a Black with Red shield Cadet.
It ran out at DKK240 or just over $41 Austrailan.

As a comparison, the cheapest I can get a Cadet into my letterbox is $31 for a silver one from Germany. For a black one, $38 from USA but it has a black shield. So, I'm very happy with that price.

You may need to have Google Translate open in another browser tab to get through the Danish ordering pages, but it's not hard to do.

They're going to wonder what's going on! I've just ordered a cadet :D

£28 including delivery sounds pretty sweet to me!

Thanks!  :salute:  I had not heard back from them yet.  I wanted to stay in bed longer this morning, but this made me get up.

I also ordered a Ranger I had given up on finding.

Now I need to get dressed and shovel snow.

It's starting off to be a good day... but the day the package arrives will be even better.

Ordered. This was a great find enki_ck.

PTRSAK it maybe worth you replying back and saying we are SAK enthusiasts or something. They will probably be very suspicious of such a rush on Cadets and Bantams.

Edit: Just read Icanfixedthat post about warning them so nether mind me.

I know, it seems nuts to pay for something that is a diff color, when I can color them myself, BUT, I dont have any way to do shield masking ... yet.

Ok I need to ask my electroplater what I could mask the shield off with.  It gets a bath in sulfuric acid though, I dont know what molarity, but I will ask.  Maybe some type of epoxy would survive.

don't know any specifics but I read in a DIY anodizing website that the acid is "about 1/2 the strength of battery acid".

I was thinking that one thing that might work as a mask is Hot Melt glue.
We had a commercial quality gun at work with adjustable temp setting and on full hot the glue was very runny.
Perhaps there is a way of melting a glue stick in a small pot and getting it hot enough to be able to paint it on with a small brush or something. Or even straight out of the gun?

I believe anodizing is a cold process. So I think it would resist the acid and for that matter the NaOH strip as well.
Removing the mask should be as easy as immersion in boiling water to melt the glue off.

Maybe worth throwing a test piece in with the next batch?

If we could get that to work... red shields galore.

I was figuring there would be some kind of epoxy that would be very runny to settle into the red hollow, but I hadn't put much thought into it.  Im popping into his shop this week anyhow though so I will just ask what he recommends.  I cant be the only customer that has ever wanted to mask off a small area.

And yes.. red shields on hard anodized black would be glorious. :D

Red shields dont suit every color, like orange I find looks odd.  But a red shield on black scales or blue scales would be just right I think.

I for one would break down a Soldier or a SI to get federal shield scales anodized to build a faux Black Beauty.
