Mora sheath mods
on: March 24, 2013, 11:04:16 PM
OK Guys
I accidentally bought a couple of Moras
I'm sitting here trying to slid some bicycle inner tube over one of the sheaths so I can wrap it with some para-cord  :)

Ferro rods, tape? What have you lot added to yours?

Suggestions and Pictures Please  :salute:

accidents do happen to the best of us sir  ;)

for my input ~ (sorry no photos) get a bit of thin bungie/shock cord, and make a loop to hold the handle tight to the top of the belt clip on the sheath

I must admit, I've never done any sheath mods like this before. I have played around with the idea once or twice, but always reverted back to keeping the knife separate from the kit. That way I can stow the knife out of sight of anyone who might be "worried" by it, but still have everything else accessible (usually in a cargo pocket)

You've no idea how much of a relief Kirky Boy is to Sparky Bloke. Before Kirky we blamed Sparky .... although maybe not so blatently ...

Okay, so who'da thunk I'd be one to get a thread back on track?

Not much of a "mod", but here's a simple thing I did with my new Mora 2000's sheath.

The belt loop is a piece of soft leather, and I didn't like the way it lets the knife flop around, so I simply took some 1" gorilla tape to hold the loop down to the body of the sheath.  Still can be worn on a belt or put on a pack strap, with a lot less floppiness, and also gives me about 24" of tape to use if needed.
The first Noble Truth: life is suffering.  Only by accepting that fact can we transcend it.
