SAK Sighting
on: April 15, 2008, 04:46:26 PM
Most of you probably won't remember this show, but it was my favorite in the late 80's.  Few other people remember it though...

It's a show about a cop named Sledge Hammer, who has an affinity for extreme violence, overshadowed only by his love for his gun.

In the second episode called "Hammer Gets Nailed," Sledge uses the scissors on his SAK to disarm a bomb.  They are easily identified as Victorinox scissors, but you never get to see the rest of it to see what model it is.  Judging by how much space there is in his hand, I'd say a two or three layer model is most likely.  I'll try to get a screen shot and post it...

In the third episode a hitman tries to kill him with a Gerber Mk II.

I remember that show. I think his catchphrase was "Trust me. I know what I'm doing". He says stuff like that jut before he does something like shoot a flare at a helicopter to get it's attention and accidentally shoots it down. Funny show

Like like the one liners he has.

Vigilante: "What do you think about the death penalty?"
Hammer: "It's too lenient: there's always the possibility of reincarnation"

After blowing up a building with a rocket launcher to take out a sniper
Hammer: "I think I got him"

I loved that show when I was a kid. It was shown late at night (for a kid), so I had to sneak out to watch it. I'm going to have to track down the DVD's now.

If ever there was a cruel reminder of the 80's, it's Max Headroom!

I vaguely remember that. Although I was in high school in the late 80's so my nights were filled with girls, cars and trying to get beer. I probably should have tried to put studying in there somewhere but that would have cramped my style.
