Dear Victorinox...
on: May 19, 2013, 02:25:23 PM
I've been looking at some of the different offerings from Victorinox, and have come up with some thoughts on things I'd  like to see from Victorinox, and I thought I'd share.

1) Small multi tool - smaller than the Spirit, similar size to the Leatherman Juice series. Non-locking blades, with the blades short enough for carry in the UK and Denmark for example.

2) 84mm knives - more tool/model options. Wider availability. Scissors!

3) All knives - rotating key ring, like the one in the Leatherman Squirt for example. I tend to prefer no key ring, but it would be handy if you had the option to move it out of the way if you don't want it, or leave it out if you do want to use it.

I haven't really thought about what they could do with the Wenger line, but I guess there's things they could almalgamate in to the main Victorinox line.

Dave.

The Juice sized Spirit is a dream many here share and we'd all like to see 84mm models with scissors back in production. :salute: But I like the idea of a rotating keyring. Maybe some of our resident modders could try implementing that idea. :D

I agree with all your points for sure.  I am working on making a liner with rotating key ring though.  Its the best solution to wanting a keyring sometimes.   :tu:

I agree. I like the 91mm size because of the tool and scale varieties, but for overall size, 84mm wins.
I cannot mod.
I cannot trade.
But I can collect.

I've been thinking about your first 2 points for quite a while now, Vic are you listening?....and would like to see your 3rd one implemented, or even see a carabiner model brought across from Wenger.

I'm thinking a ground down key ring spacer from the 84's or older 91's may be able to be made retractable by our resident modders.....

MINI SPIRIT...

More 84mm's---  Think about it, it might be far away, but we might get a MINI SWISSCHAMP!

As for the rotating keyring, I can relate. It gets in the way while opening/closing many tools.

I am the opposite.  I want bigger tools and bigger blades made from better steel.   I want tension screws and a blade exchanger.

Neat I never thought of making a really wide 84, but it would be a nice mod.   :tu:

Oh, so there are 84mm serrated blades as well? Interesting!

Edit: It's from a special Recruit then, I guess?
