Checked out my Buddie's CX !
on: April 18, 2008, 09:50:18 PM
Got a chance to play with one . Fit and finish were very good . I like the bit holder arrangement . The blade looks like a fair /good compromise for everyday chores , it was well ground and shaving sharp (right out of the box ) . Lock up on the blade was secure , and shouldnt be a problem if the tool is used within reasonable limits . The pliers are obviously intended for light/medium duty , and should be fine if used within those constraints . The handles were OK ergonomically , I  didnt find the projecting bit on the lower handle to be too uncomfortable ( provided the #2 Philips was facing outwards ). The action on the master blade and the pliers was clean .

Overall very nice ! I think this one will find its way into my EDC rotation . Nice an light for bumming around in lite clothing .

I agree Styerman, the weight is one of my favorite things about it,
very easy to carry.

I'm starting to warm up to mine a little now.    Still don't like the clip.   It seems to let the knife twist on my pocket.   I think a little wider clip would be better.

But having a lightweight setup like this is really nice.   All the essentials in a small package is great.

it has more tools than the zila tool but weighs less and feels like it would handle more work on the pliers also. I like it.

Im thinking of getting one for off duty , on person carry . The Vic Spirit will  be rotated into my daypack or man purse ( Max. Fatboy ) . The Surge is currently attached to the stap of my tool tote .

I like the Surge lots for work - the SDS shanked saw attachment is very handy . Its a tad bit massive for more mundane EDC . I also have one in the truck's console .
