Just got a Nook
on: May 04, 2013, 07:28:19 AM
I just traded a tool of mine for a Nook Simpletouch from a friend of mine at work.  Never had an ereader before, other than the kindle app on my phone.  I really dig the nook, looks just like a page of a book, so easy on the eyes.  The only issue is, he has like 80 books on this thing, and said I can keep using his account as long as I don't buy anything.  I wish there was a way to transfer the books to my account, because he essentially gave them to me.  At around $9 a pop I simply can't afford to buy the ones I want right now.   Anyone know of a way to, for lack of a better word, Gift nook books?

I know you are, but what am I? :P

Well you posted this at 7.30 am on a Friday. I was asleep. :D

I'm not familiar with this model. Does it have a USB port or a SD card to which you could download the books and copy them to your computer?

or try this?

Nook uses EPUB (including Adobe DRM or DRM free), PDF files, and CBZ files.  You should be able to connect it to your PC and see the files on the nook. Maybe pull them to a desktop file and use http://ebook.online-convert.com/ to change the file type to your liking.

Works with my kindle second gen. I can also point you in the way of loading your nook up with books. PM me if interested .  >:D

It does indeed have USB port and an SD card, but it's too late anyways.  I flashed the nook and set up my account on it.  There were a couple digital editions on my PC that I bought when I first tried Adobe and Epub readers like two years ago, and I forgot I had a Cussler novel on my Barnes and noble account from when I had the nook app on my smartphone, so I have a few books to read, plus the classics are free, at least they are on kindle so I would assume they are on nook as well.
