so the big question is; does it really last 8-10 hours at 20 lumen. :pok:

If there is any interest in this.. when I am back at work next week I can stick in front of a detector hooked up to a data logger and plot the output.

I must say it's definitely more economic in terms of battery usage - with my Olight i3 I changed batteries ever 3-4 days, while with the new one I go with one battery for 1 week without a problem. And still, I put in a fresh battery not when the previous one's totally dead, but when there isn't enough power for the light to go on the highest mode anymore.

This is, of course, about the way & frequence I use the flashlights, it is different with different people.

They are better, yeah , I never thought one of those old batteries of mine could last for over a week *crazy* I haven't had time, but I think that if I put a seemingly dead battery from the Olight i3 in the i3S, the latter will work with no problem. It might be something like a dead-battery-Feix-01 feeling :D

Now, look at that %)

I type: Olight i3S on eBay and this is what I get: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=Olight+i3s&_sop=15

All links read: i3SSSSSSSSSS, but in all pictures I see the OLD model, the i3. So..... if you order, which one are you gonna get ?! Or will it happen the same that happened to me: order the new design of the Fenix E11 and get the old one?

The problem is that a lot of ebay sellers don't really know their product, nor have any particular interest either.  So you can easily end up with a seller who has new stock but hasn't updated their add, or a seller who has old stock but has uploaded the nice new picture for their add.

What might make it easier is if the manufacturers clearly denoted new versions; in other words call it the Olight i3S V2, or the Fenix E11.1, rather than just re-using exactly the same name.

Hmmm.... I see the logic behind ..... Now I'm even feeling lucky that when I bought the new i3s I didn't actually get the old i3, ...  X-)

Well I lost my old ITP (somewhere in Kansas) so I've ordered an Olight I3S, let's see how I get along with the new one.

Of course it's in tacticool black. :tu:

See I like brightly coloured torches - makes finding them easier!
That said most of mine are black because that's what's cheapest.

Well I do too, but yeah, black tends to be cheaper. Thankfully though, black goes with everything so it's never a bad buy. As much as I like bright colors I don't have the other things to match it. :D

Hey Frog, nice to see you back.
Am I? We'll see. It's great to see old faces though. :P
