Wow, that really does look like a Victorinox!
I would guarantee that the fit & finish, opening & closing snap & quality isn't as good as the genuine article, but they have obviously put some effort into copying the design.

That appears to be a Victorinox Handyman, I can get one of those from Amazon for $46.79 which not only appears to be a Victorinox Handyman but is in fact a genuine Victorinox Handyman.
To pay a little more money for a Chinese knock-off is absolutely crazy IMO.

They all have the same mistake the white almost translucent toothpick is always on the wrong side (shield side) where as on a real Vic the Tweezer is on the Shield side. That box is worth more than the knife inside

listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time

I bought one of these for "research' for like $6 not $50.  Junk.
Note that they use a photo of a real Vic to sell the fake.  (Kind of doubley-criminal)  The chinese counterfeit for example does not have the parcel hook shown in the photo.  Thank goodness for the betraying white plastic toothpick as mentioned by meanx.
Yes the box is nicer than the knife.

Being sold as a Victorinox Champion Plus but there is no pen.  The description claims it has one, and again uses a photo of the real thing to make the sale.  The fake is again betrayed by the white toothpick, the tweezers on the wrong side, the shape of the scissor-spring...

One of the weirder things to look for is actually how the nail nicks in the opener layer are ground. They are better defined on the genuine article. Easy to spot if you compare. Also, the often don't get access to the nail nicks right (tools resting too deeply compared with nail nick placement, nail nicks being obscured by other layers, etc).

Counterfeit pieces and those that sell them just "chap my hide"!  :twak: When I spot one I usually report it to eBay but I wonder if they even do anything about it? I guess China will mostly be known for ripping folks off with all the fake crap they spew out onto the rest of the world. Of course there are other places where fakes are made but there can be only one KOTH!

This one a copy rather than a fake.

I have to agree with that!

I hate fakes and rip offs to the degree that I am not above approving summary execution for the offense!Or at least a good beating on general principles.  :twak:
