If I ever make flashlights of solid gold,
my GF would leave me, I believe.

Terry, the small tubular doodads are aluminum whistles anodized in natural color.
The slim one has a higher pitch than the shorter one.

How much for a black one?  :gimme:

Rodion, I just checked the availability of the black whistles. The store have no stock yet and they can't determine as to when their stock will arrive. In fact, they have no stock of all colors. Those doodads sells like hotcake to small kids.

Well I don't have enough stuff to switch often so mine basically stay the same with minor changes throughout the year.

WOW! I worded that WAY wrong! I bought ten of them for a quarter each! I bought 10 emergency blankets for .25 cents each too.. What about striking the match though? There is no where to strike it!! Oh, and I just cut up the striker on a match box and stuck it in there!

A quarter each is still great price! Mine has this little bar of metal on bottom but it's too smooth to do anything. But I don't use it to carry match with me for edc, I have two cr123a cells inside.  :)

I have a bunch of these too to carry CR123, but I've never been able to get a spark from the flint.  Do any of yours work?

I add one of those birthday candles that you can't blow out in the match safes.

What do you guys think of adding a piece of sand paper to the top or bottom of the match safe. I thought a piece of sand paper could be glued on the outside.

Great ideas....  I think the sandpaper would be fine if the matchsafe wasn't going to be rubbing against anything else important.  Some adhesive grip tape for stairs or skateboards would work well.

I am still all for my idea though.. It's so much easier to just cut off the striker of a match box!!

Wait, they have no "colored ones", or none at all? Wow.

I actually carry two strikers in my match safe.

REI wind and water proof matches come with two strikers in a plastic sleeve in addition to the strikers on the box. I had to shorten the matches, strikers and candle to fit in my match safe.

The match safe I EDC is brass with a compass. I don't think they make the brass ones anymore but they are made in aluminum. The EDC Depot has them.
