[CLOSED] victorinox 108 mm: Walther, Safari, Solo, GAK

I did amass a pile of knives, tools and gear over the years (with exponential rise after joining the ranks of the enabling community we call MTO).
Now, with my Marriage and it´s expenses coming nearer, i want to thin the herd a bit. If i can make my fiance happy on the way, even better.
I´ll put up different stuff for sale (and trade) in the next weeks.
Here will be offered some of the 108 mm Vic´s i do not use.

Let´s start off with a rare bird for the Collectors amongst you:

According to SAK wiki only 4972 ones have been made. I managed to get my grubby mitts on one some time ago for it´s black scales. Because it´s too thick for pocket carry, i did the right thing and did not use it even before i found out what a rare specimen this is.

It´s the Mauser layout (Spearpoint, Clippoint and Combotool) without the etching and with black, Walther printed scales.

I would call this "near mint" but please judge for yourself, i did several pics.

From what i can see, the spear point might heve been used once, the other tools seem unused.
I had to remove some old oil and sticky lint and the scales show some minor wear from either shelf or pocket life. The backside liners show minimal wear on teh edges, like you would expect from a knife that lived in a pocket for a short while maybe.

I did some shots with artificial lighting and flash and contrast enhancement to show the minute wear marks:

As you can see there are scratches and some of the pyramids on teh scale have their point worn off a bit.

Here you can (maybe) see what residue of old oil and lint/sticky stuff was left after cleaning tah saw carefully with warm water and dishwashing liquid.

Still a birt of dirt inside the nailnick and very minute marks on the blade. On teh backside there is a streak along the blade, not a scratch, but visible under certain lighting conditions.

I did not want to take metal polish to the tools and keep it as is.

Pricing? Difficult. I´ve seen Mausers on here for 75 GBP and only one Walther over at EDC source for 397,- USD, so i guess 150,- € shipped worldwide, registered and signed for , sounds fair?

Next is a used Safari with Sheath in good condition.
It shows some wear and tear, but is still fully useable.

Blade has it´s original ege but could do with a good sharpening and has typical small scratches from use. Edge is straight and has good snap.

The Combo tool has a sharp saw, the screwdriver tip has small nicks but is not distorted.

Awl and corkscrew are straight and in very good nick.

The scales show some wear and are both firmly fixed to the knife.

Solo:

Used

in good overall condition. I use one as a companion to my Multitool and it´s a simple, no-nonsense tool that is sheeple friendly in my experience.

Handled, but not used. Apparently i paid 12,- € for this as a backup i did never need.

GAK, used

Heavily used, but functional GAK. Scratches from abuse and sharpening, needs a decent sharpening.
Functional, scales are firm and in good nick , saw is dirty and scratched, backside tools in good nick.

I might have some more in similar condition, I´ll have a look.

Of course, I´ll combine shipping and will answer all questions as good and quick as i can.

As of now, the Walther is reserved and the used Solo and GAK are sold.
Leaves the Safari and the new Solo.

although the "rare bird" is long gone, i wanted to bump this thread - 2 of those are still here and up for sale, teh Safari and the Solo. Solo like new, Safari slightly used.

Includes the Saw Cover and match striker/file on teh Combo Tool
