Micra or Style CS?
on: June 07, 2013, 09:26:00 AM
Currently have ST300 for home. Wave for work. What for EDC? Really need something with scissors to keep on keychain.

I have a Micra that I've owned for a few years and a recently bought Style CS.

Currently the Style is on my keys and the Micra rides in the bottom of my day pack.

I would say if you want the bling factor go for the Style, also the caribina clip makes it easy on/off the keyring.

The Micra would be better if you need a slightly more covert carry. It is just a rectangle of stainless when folded, the Style is a real eye catcher.

As far as functionality goes, I'd be hard to pick between them, I usually have a SAK in my pocket too and my wave also rides in the day bag so it's only light duty stuff they get used for.

If I had to pick, I'd go for the Style... just because it looks cooler.

If it is just the scissors you are going to use I'd go with the Style, but if there is a chance you are going to want some screwdrivers then the Micra wins hands down IMO.

My full review of the Style CS is on the main site and compares the two tools. http://www.multitool.org/Leatherman-Tool-Group/Keychain-Tools/2011/02/06/style-cs.html

Hello! : )

If you don't mind my accent, I made a video comparison exactly on these two some time ago:

I haven't watched it for a while, so my opinion might have changed since then, but right now I'd prefer the Micra. It's just a design preference, not functionality.

Hmmmm...

Love the Micra, but find it a bit heavy for keyring use.Love the style of the Style CS/PS,prefer the PS.I think the Micra trumps the CS in useablity.

By preference? I'll have a Vic Manager/Rambler :pok:
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

i examined both of them and i prefer micra, little screwdrivers are useful esp the phillips one, it fits skeletool's t8 bits very well.

I prefer the Micra of the two. There's also the Squirt S4, if you can find one. I like the S4 more.

I have the Micra, and I'd say I like it better, but I can't be entirely accurate in that opinion as I've never handled a Style CS.  Having the knife on the outside may give an advantage to the Style since the Micra has to be opened to access any of the tools.  I like that setup though, especially if it's going to reside on a keychain.  Also, the Micra is solid, and the drivers are quite useful and strong for such a small tool.

Ordered the CS. What we pay for them down here is extortion, but could not resist the sexy factor.
Now what do I get next? Raptor or  :sak: Rescue :tool:? Or wait for that perfect :multi: around the corner?

Great comparison Nikoleta. I have a Micra and Style CS, but I prefer Style CS on my keyring, because the Micra is a bit large.
