Swiss Soldier 08--Is my saw a defect?
on: June 09, 2013, 12:24:16 AM
I just bought a Swiss Soldier 08 today. It is a good camping knife in its own right.

However, the saw concerned me...

The saw is made in such a way that when fully opened, the back of the saw makes a wide angle(around 170o?) with the body of the knife. The saw also looks (more than)slightly bent to the back which might explain why the saw has this odd shape. Is this a defect or is this the way Vic's 111mm saw is? (It does not look odd in the handle.)
 Photos will soon follow.

Mine are the same, so I think its intentional.  Maybe to give your fingers more room when sawing?  I have a folding camp saw that folds the same angle.

Mine too.  Open the main blade, open the saw, goes about a cm past the main blade.  It's not a bug, it's a feature.  :sak:
