I could say if it is too good to be true, it is not true. Though i got one real thing with low price but again not from ebay (because shop just wanted to empty shelf and sold last piece). But for beginners it is a shame if they get a wrong impression from quality brands have. As difference usually is huge.

A buddy sent me the Swiss Champ version from that company to examine....fairly close (yet obviously inferior) copy of of the real thing....close enough to probably fool a first time buyer.

It's not a Wenger Esquire--Heck, it's not even Swiss! Its' a short lived attempt at an SAK-style knife by the renowned American maker Colonial.

Colonial SAK lookalike being sold as a Wenger.  I hope the seller just uploaded the wrong photos and isn't that dumb.

I wouldn't worry.  I've never seen an SAK knockoff that wasn't easily identifiable in the photos.  Others can share their experiences, but honestly the only convincing multitool counterfeits I've seen have been for Gerbers.

I'm no expert on these, but the awl doesn't look right to me either . . . no ground edge and the sack sewing hole is round . . . all the SAK I've seen have a ground edge for boring with a flute down the other side opposite the ground bevel for debris relief. Those new enough to have the sack sewing hole have an oval hole, not a round one. Looks like it's die stamped sheet steel.

I have one of these given to me by a bud so I could examine it...it was in a TSA box of SAKs. Fairly well made close copy that might fool a first time buyer,  The give away is the metal mag holder. The can opener/cap lifter are almost identical. The T&T slots are larger as well...you can see the differences in hand but in pics, it's tougher.

One of the better knockoffs for sure. But the pliers are all wrong and the scissors arent as tall as they should be. Bottle opener sticks up too much in the closed position.

However, the knives, saw, file, corkscrew and openera (in open position) are very convincing.
