I'm trading my stainless Spirit* for a Surge, but it has no sheath, so I was wondering if it would fit any of my existing sheaths...but I need to know the dimensions of the Surge while closed.

*Trading away a Spirit?  No I'm not crazy; I EDC a black oxide Spirit and the stainless one has been sitting on my desk untouched...why not turn it into a SURGE!!!!! :D

I have a nylon sheath I got from CountyComm a while back I'm hoping will be big enough;  if not I'll get an "official" Surge sheath off ebay and EDC this beast for a while once I get it :multi:

I think I tweaked my back lifting this up, but here's the measurements

4.5" x 1.5" wide x 13/16" thick.    Weighs about 14 pounds.   :pok:

If that sheath will fit your SwissTool than it should fit the SURGE!

I got the Surge!!! today and like it so far; I might EDC it tomorrow (It fits in that CountyComm sheath)

A quick mod releated question;  Do I need two Torx bits to remove the bolts, or just one?

Stainless steel, I'd like to eventually get a BO one if I really like EDCing it.

Oops, sorry I missed this question earlier Corrugated; you need TWO torx bits in order to remove the pivots on the plier end, but only ONE torx bit in order to remove the pivots on the opposite end.

Why? Because on the......lets call it "short blade" end.....the pivot pins have a flat on them that prevents them from spinning. You just need to remove the male screw and out comes the pivot pin.

On the "long blade" end the pivot pin is completely round. If you try to remove the male screw the whole damn pin will just spin round and round. (unless you have two torx bits, one on each side)  :-\
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Hmm, I'll try a "standard" T-10 and see if it lines up with the star shape snugly; if so then I'll search out the security version of the T-10.

We really still need to get a bulk buy going on all the security bits for the leathermans. I would love to have a Mr Potatoe head Leatherman. Plus you could get exactly what you want.
