A rethink of the humble flashlight
on: June 28, 2013, 04:41:05 AM
This is going to look and smell like spam, and maybe even taste like it :)

I've recently supported an Indigogo campaign for a new take on the flashlight, and it really is something special.

I'd like to share it with the good folks here. It's called the Function Flashlight. See the video:

The campaign is here: http://igg.me/at/cryos

Now the full disclosure part - I am a backer and I would like to see the project go ahead so I can have mine! Also, there's currently an accessory giveaway for people who spread the word through forums. This post is earning me a set of diffusers :)

Thanks!

Looks very interesting. :tu: If you do manage to get one, we'll be expecting to hear your thoughts on it. :D

Maybe even a full review. :pok:  :D

It's an interesting design, i first saw it on CPF but i must admit i haven't been following it much.
The price is also pretty good considering the Oveready triple P60 drop-in, which has the same LED setup and output is pretty much the same price.
The 1/4" camera threads give it a great deal of fuctionality and i can see myself using it as a workshop light.

I'll have to keep an eye on these and perhaps my resolve will weaken eventually.
Pictures of most of my work can be found on my Facebook Page.
Also have a look at my Shapeways Shop and SW Torch Shop for 3D printed items.

Mines going to get paired with a magnet-footed gorilla pod :) it should be a very flexible (ha ha) setup.

I like it! It's like a bike light, regular flashlight, camera light all rolled into one. Now if it only had a headlamp attachment but I think that it would be too heavy for that.
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

Strange how my thread got canned, I didn't know this existed or I would have posted here.

You're brand new, and posted a link without much text to explain why you were posting - it looked, smelled and tasted like spam ;)

And you were the third person to post that link. ;)

mvyrmnd is one of us so we don't mind offering him some support but the first post from a newbie being a link to a fundraiser or your own product is a No-NO. :D
