Sometimes, newer isn't always better.
The Pulse is a classic. If you like the PST...have you tried a PST II yet? Nothing wrong with the oldies. Sometimes, newer isn't always better.
+1, in spite of the best efforts of marketing departments everywhere to convince us otherwise.
The oddball Wenger from The Grumpy One was a real score (you jammy little smurf), and I'm not surprised it's become permanant .... for now The solution for the Swisstool/Spirit is undoubtedly a Swisstool CS Plus for the bag, and a Spirit X (or RT) for lighter carry - so you ain't finished shoping yet I tried the Pulse in my early stages of MT research after joining here, and traded it away to Sparky, as I could not abide the locks, and after the outboard tools of the Swisstool, I found it a right royal pain in the nethers to use. If it works for you though, that's great I can fully appreciate the lure to knifeless though, and I currently have three knifeless mods, plus a serious liking for the IDL T7 for lighter carry as a companion to a Traveller or similar.Don't worry about the older tools being perfect for you though. AHB is in love with the Sideclip (another tool I tried and failed with), Chako is almost permamantly fixed on the Knifeless Fuse, and there's a couple of members who really love the PST II. Personally I'm a fan of the SOG Toolclip, Buck X-Tract Fin and Essential, "Spyder Guppie", MP700 and a few other of the tools that have faded from view. It's really not a problem - it just means you are reaching enlightenment .... although the fact you've settled on a PST instead of a Paladin PT-510 with PST II parts like my PPPP means you ought to change the lightbulb .... I really wish I could find my PT-510
Well, for better or for worse, its been done

It looks like it could be PST parts with a small notch so they could lock. How about an Awl? I mean. That could be an easy swap. In fact, I just got some Engineer Screw Pliers that are JUST the ticket for attacking those knurled disc screws. That's how I made my MST!Let me know if I can help.

Or if you want to keep the blade just adjust the notch or locking tab, easy enough to do as well.
