Buck Knives Splizzors
on: July 11, 2013, 09:09:40 PM
Just saw these on FaceBook. There is not much info on them yet. I own a pair of the last model of Buck scissors and really like them. So I may have to get a Splizzor and see how they work.  From what I can see they look to have a changeable cutting edge.  I don't know if I like the pliers on the tip. It seems these may be more for fishing than every day use.
Here is what Buck wrote about the Splizzors on Face Book.
(Drum Roll Please....Buck Knives is proud to Debut the all New 030 Splizzors at 2013 ICAST. Innovative all-in-one fishing tool added to Buck’s new products lineup.
In a recent field-test, the Splizzors, Buck’s new multi-purpose fishing tool, turned heads while effortlessly cutting braided line and removing hooks and lures from a multitude of fish.)

I haven't done much fishing in my life and I don't know if I like the pliers on the tip of the scissors either. This tool does seem useful to me however. It's even got a bottle opener on the handle, cool. Thanks for sharing :tu:

Quick search found this.

Seems to be a good tool for the task. Not sure if I would buy one for my fishing adventures, but if the price was right I would give it a go.  :tu:

I especially like that they consider a bottle opener a essential fishing tool :D

I think scissors that go all the way to the end are better for fine fishing line work, but depending on the price I might give this this tool a try.

I agree. The majority of the time I use scissors while fishing i'm always using the tip of the scissor for more fine cutting.

Do you carry a separate hook remover? I usually carry a set of clippers, hook remover, and a knife.
The Splizzors cover all those in one tool. I would still need a knife for cleaning the fish.

I carry clippers hemostat pliers and my Leatherman wave. I have been wanting to see if one of the many hook disgorgers out there work though
