Lovely stuff Zed. How comfortable are the handles with that raised relief? Do they sit well in the hand?

You don't really notice it,it's there for extra grip to stop your hand sliding up the handle onto the blades edge as no guard, although these are more hacking knives than stabbing, :tu:

Like hacking off the limbs of human beings!  LOL.

I'm not sure what would be worse, a serious stab wound or your arm being severed with one of these knives.

Ouch!

Does anyone use these bloody things?
During December of 1944 kukris were used during the Battle of Castella right here were I live.
It was a dark page in our history, the first episode of the Cold War, with British fighting with the legitimate goverment (right wing) against the fighters of EAM (left wing, hopping for Stalin's help that never came).
EAM soldiers were holding the summit of Castella, just above my house. They used Nazi bunkers which were very tough for the 5th Indian Brigade with Sherman tanks. From there EAM controled the Piraeus- Athens road (Themistocles Long Wall road) and the British needed the road to send reinforcements to Athens.
On 11th of January the 5th was reinforced with Gurkhas and Balouchis, also artillery from the 4th Indian and Essex. But the communists resisted the Indians who shouted Jaya Mahakali until the 16th when Gurkhas evaded during night using their knives and managed to take the rock. The rest is history (a civil war with more dead than the ones Germans, Italians and Bulgarians killed in four years and a reign of terror that lasted three more decades).
These are not toys, they bite.

So do tomahawks, axes, SAKs multipliers and other sharp toys we carry. Kukri have been used as tools for years. Just so happens, like the tomahawk, it proved to be a great weapon also.

Yes, that's what I mean. It is too capable. And frightening. If I buy one, police should never find it on me.

Capable, yes, so is a kitchen knife or a machete but won't go any farther into than that. Never thought of them as frightening no more than my hawk or bow and arrows or LM Surge. Which is not at all. I think Kukris are great tools and works of art. They are not for wearing into town no more than a Buck 119 or a Mora Bushcraft Black. There place is in the woods, farms and jungles.

I would probably use it in my living room as a decoration piece. For that I would need a traditional type.

Here's my Himalayan Imports Ang Khola.
I'm cheap so I went for the villager fit and finish.  It's a beast of a blade though at roughly 3/8" thick at the spine!  Not a slicer

When the time comes, you'll be the first one I talk to! :)

I have a general idea of what I want, but knowing me, that'll change a few times. I want a user, and I was thinking around a 12" blade.

I'm just heading to bed, but I'll have a better look tomorrow of what he offers.
