So with the Style PS I bought from leatherman.co.uk directly, it came with a 'monarch 3' torch. This is not a torch that can be bought separately, and it was quite hard to find any info on it at all on the internet. But thanks to some of our other members we were able to get some stats for it (from Heinnie Haynes), which I have copied below:
Monarch 3 -
ANSI max luminous flux (lm): 16
ANSI max beam distance (m): 18
ANSI peak beam density: 81
ANSI working time (h): 18
Impact resistance level: 1m pass
Dust-proof & waterproof level(IPXX): IPX4
Battery quantity & type: 1xAAA (included)
Features -
Anodised aluminium body
Perfect keychain size
Keyring attachment
Having received the torch, I can say that it has a nice feel to it, doesn't feel like it is that cheap. To switch it on you twist the cap closed, and to put the battery in, you can remove the tail end. Takes an AAA battery, but the torch is quite a bit larger in size than the battery. I suppose I have been spoilt by the Olight i3 I have, which is only slightly large than the battery it takes, which makes me feel in this torch there is some 'wasted space'.
The torch is lensless, like the Fenix E01, light output seems quite good to me but then I am not a torch pro, and unfortunately my Olight has stopped working so I cannot compare it to the different modes on that. It is too bright to look at, and easily lights up the hallway at home, like I have tried to show in the pictures.
Nothing much more to say really, it will reside on my wife's keyring. I am surprised that if it is a Leatherman product, are they too ashamed to put their name on it, or do the 'official' Monarch series torches also lack the Leatherman name, and just have Monarch written on them?
Any questions, please ask.
