Which to disassemble? Salesman or Golfer
on: August 14, 2013, 02:23:17 AM
I'm hoping to add real 84mm scissors to my cadet to make my dream knife. All I have is a salesman/small super tinker and a golfer (I think it might be the even older pocket pal with scissors and long file, as there is a small blade no combo tool). Judging by the blades they look to be pre 1973 models. It pains me to take apart one, and I might just keep them instead, but if I had to disassemble one which one should it be? (Or does anybody have 84mm vic scissors they can sell me for cheap :D)

*flinches*

Golfer, more common. That would give you an alox equivelent to the Alumnus- a full metal Alumn might be call the Ringknocker, but that's not really a compliment. Hmmm...

pics of the two, so we can make a better Solomonic decision?

If they are both in good condition, neither. ;)

Take a look here on how to use 91mm scissors for it.

Well, I'll probably try to outsource the modding, don't really trust myself to do it the right way :o
I might consider the 91mm scissors, but I'd just prefer to have the real 84mm scissors for my holy grail, even if there's not that big of a difference. I think it would just bother me that it wasn't 100% correct. Thanks for the information though. I'm out of town this week but will post photos of the two saks when I get back.
