Quite right too we shouldn't have anything that could possibly be dangerous or encourage any of those nasty male instincts like defending your self or your family .Standing up for those who can't defend themselves thats what the police are for provided they are not tied up filling 200 different forms for a dozen diiferent agencies to give a good clear picture of our country going to hell in a hand cart

Mine doesn't carry it but she has it here at home. I've tried to convince her to upgrade but she doesn't want to. I can kinda understand, it's an old Beretta Model 418 made in 1954. Single action with a nice crisp trigger. Of course being an older gun it has lots of character and holds 8+1. And it's as reliable as the sun. The only time it has ever jammed was when one time I put it together wrong. But it still fired, it just didn't cycle another round.

Sorry OT, In Britain can't the people petition the goverment to amend a ruling? For example gun control, if majority of the people doesn't want a provision on it, could it force the goverment to amend it?

I have a .25 cal Beretta Tomcat. It is a wonderful handgun! You would be amazed on how accurate this thing is!

Duck's question was one I was pondering myself. Do most English residents approve the government's gun control measures? If not, since England has a representative democracy, why doesn't someone form a National Rifle Association and get Judy Dench to stand up on a podium and declare "They can take this rifle from my cold, dead hands" or something like that?

Used to have one just like that - great little pocket pistol.

IMHO, it's really hard to beat Beretta in the pocket pistol catergory.  I've owned many Beretta pocket pistols over the years: .380s, .32s, .25s, and even a few .22s.

All of 'em were boring, because they always did the same thing when the trigger was pulled - over and over and over.

Never any excitement with those pistols - no "break in" period necessary, no failures to feed, no extraction failures, no stovepipes, etc.

Come to think of it, boring pistols can be pretty cool for carry in your pocket.

The problem is we have a press that is hungry to vilify any minority they feel able to pic on with impunity
The masses don't really understand the problem and allow themselves to be swayed by political/journalistic opinion, a few people stand up to be counted, but at the end of the day we do live in a country that is doing it's level best to take all decisions and choice's out of the hands of it's people
