Loved that song used to be played by the radio stations here all the time during I think the 80's,got burned in my mind, hope didn't have a subliminal message.

MAN, Hawk! There's NOTHING to be ashamed of in liking Journey!!!!! Live with Steve Perry they kicketh hiney (Steven can show a lot of old boys how it's done!).

For me, I hate to admit I own a cassette of Michael Jackson's "Thriller." I generally hate the album, but I have to admit it has brilliant production."Beat It" is one heck of a cool jam and then Eddie Van Halen (who I'm also not crazy about, but must admit he has his moments) comes on and layers a big slice of icing on the cake.

I get a lot of ribbing for liking " The Lawrence Welk Show", but his band was very happening in the black and white years and Buddy Merrill was one of Fender's endorsers in the 50's-60's. Each week he had some of the most drool-inducingest equipment a guitar player could want.

The "Lawrence Welk Show" used to get me a lot of kidding when I worked in the guitar shop. It can be cheesy, especially the late 70's-early 80's ones. But the 50's and 60's ones had moderately hot Jazz numbers, some Swing and even Rock and Roll (last week they did a cover of "Caledonia" which was very good). If you ever get to catch a show which features "Buddy's Boogie", don't miss it. That was a Rockabilly/Swing hybrid and Merrill really burned it.

I have to admit I have a bit of a thing for Mary Lou Metzger and Anacani. Both are talented and have aged amazingly. Anacani was featured a while back and as well as being quite gorgeous, she was charming and extraordinarily classy.

Johny Horton's "The BAttle of New Orleans" ::)
"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall;
 Some run from breaks of ice, and answer none:
 And some condemned for a fault alone." -William Shakespeare, King Lear (1608), Act IV, scene 6, line 169

There is absolutely NOTHING shameful about good old fashioned country music. At least here in the Ozarks there isn't. I love Johnny Horton. I also love "North to Alaska". Great singer, tragically taken too early in life.
