Juice S2 Scissors Sticking
on: September 19, 2013, 10:24:57 PM
The scissors on my Juice S2 are sticking closed, I can let them go and they will stay there.  I have cleaned them and oiled them but noting seems to be helping.  Any Ideas?

Mine seemed to be fine and functional. Just keep oiling! :multi:

Maybe work them open and closed about 19,000 times while watching Dancing with the Stars. I bet they would loosen up a little after that.

I called Leatherman today, I wanted to make sure that since I modded the can opener into an awl they would still accept it. They told me to send it to them, its going on a trip tomorrow.

I had this happen with my Deluxe Tinker. It was the actual cutting edge on the scissor blades that was making it stick. If you noticed any burs on the blade of the scissor that could be your problem.

I'm sure Leatherman will treat you good. I assume they will just replace it for you. The only reason they wouldn't would be because you modified it, but if you already mentioned it I doubt they care.

Let us know what happens.

Is it the scissors that are sticking or the opening spring lever? In my experience the only time the scissors stick/rub are in the slot they stow in. Burrs on the scissors cutting edges and gunk in the backsprings would be prime candidates I reckon  :)

It looks like the spring lever.
