Hello from NY State
on: October 09, 2013, 03:16:02 PM
Hi I'm Phil, from NY...during the day I have a desk job but by night(and on the weekend) I enjoy being outdoors and also tinkering.  I first got a multitool out of utility and then started to collect them.

I like the big name multitools but also decent quality off brand stuff...more for collecting/edc than hard use.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Couple leatherman micra (i prefer the one with the blue plastic cover, it's more comfortable).
A few Leatherman squirts (ES4, P4, PS4s)
Leatherman Juice XE6 (it's purple but the lighting was poor)
Leatherman Sidekick
Vic Swisstool BO
SOG Paratool
Craftsman Multitool (USA made)
LL Bean Multitool (Decent quality, I don't know much about it.  I'll probably make a post somewhere about it since it's weird)
Some offbrand Grey Multitool that's like a mini Juice, it's actually quite nice, quality on par with squirts(probably not materials).
And a Sheffield multitool that isn't terrible yet, at least for now it has strong detents and is serviceable.

Welcome mate

Howdy fellow NYer. Whereabouts are you in NYS?

Nice group there, you may want to pick up a nice alox SAK as well. ;)

I have a couple offbrand SAK that I got as presents over the years.  When/if they break I'll probably look into getting a proper one.

No kidding. I'm in Flushing, Queens. I'm out in Suffolk a lot with the wife. Great restaurants out there.

Cheers!
