I find that whatever you can do with a corkscrew there is already a better tool for the job.
What about open wine bottles

I have both a fieldmaster and a huntsman. I feel that if you have another multitool with a phillips driver on you usually then the huntsman is a better choice. However if you will not have a phillips driver around I think the fieldmaster is the way to go.Quote from: CanadianLMfan on October 09, 2013, 03:13:19 AMI find that whatever you can do with a corkscrew there is already a better tool for the job. What about open wine bottles

At least if we only consider the tools included in SAKs... The corkscrew comes handy to open wine bottles, but also to some others small tasks. I used to look for SAKs without it like a super tinker, but now I tend to choose one with corkscrew and inline Philips (the CT attachment is cool also).
How about if you considered multitools?
Quote from: CanadianLMfan on October 09, 2013, 01:30:40 PMHow about if you considered multitools?Corkscrews are available with Swisstool, Swisstool Spirit, Leatherman Flair, Juice CS4, Juice XE6, Juice Pro, a Gerber MP400 variation, a Gerber Crucial variation ...
The main reported problem with the Philips that replaces the Corkscrew in the fieldmaster is that it can break easily, according to a test performed by one of the Moderators here (Whippy or J-sews I think..?) Enci will probably find it soon I have used them, but never really pushed them too hard, so as to break. If you need a proper philips screwdriver then the one on e..g the Explorer is more robust....and the cybertool has screwdriver bits too..The corkscrew, apart from opening wine bottles, can house the mini screwdriver, so you get two tools instead of one.
