Dead on tools or Stanley
on: September 12, 2013, 07:47:57 PM
I'm looking at both the dead on tools annihilator bar http://www.deadonstore.com/tools/an14.htm
or Stanley Fubar http://www.stanleytools.com/default.asp?CATEGORY=NEW%5FPROD%5FDEMOLITION&TYPE=PRODUCT&PARTNUMBER=55-121&SDesc=Stanley%26%23174%3B+Fubar%26%23174%3B+Forcible+Entry+Tool+%2D+18%22

I'd like to know if one is better than the other or if there are tools similar to these to I may like more

it will be used mostly for demo work on mobile homes.

thanks

A 30"-36" halligan bar  :tu: Way out of the price range of the two tools you listed, but the length for leverage and weight I think would be much apprecated. Just throwin that out there for other options.

If I had to pick from those two, I'd have to say the Stanley fubar! The design of it looks to be more manageable, and easier to use, but then again what do I know I'm just a plumber, I'd just grab a 3' or 4' pipe wrench and have at what ever needed demolition  great stress relief! JR

I like the dead on tool so far but I hate the stupid spike on the handle.

This might help you... I have the Annihilator, but I only got it because I wanted it, not for actual need...

I've handled the Annihilator. I found it awkward to even play with in the store (makes you feel like a badass though lol), let alone actually use it. I'd go with the Stanley.

I can't make up my mind .

I'm going to try get the annihilator then the truckers friend then fubar

not sure about the sizes yet.

small annihilator, standard truckers friend, 30+inch fubar.

then there's the woodsman's pal I've been looking into but that is a different topic

Personally, I'd make sure I had at least one prytool with as long a lever arm as possible.
