If I went to use a MT and the blade were dull right out of the package, it'd be tossed straight into the trash can
I need a teleporter that leads to my house from your trashcan.

I really like reading real world use of a tool, and reporting good/bad.  Its a great way to get a review of how it does day to day tasks.   :tu:

Keep it up, and Im curious if you'll make it the 30 days. :D  I would miss my SAK if it wasnt in my pocket.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

It doesn't get any easier, either, but it's the only way to review something for real.

Testing a CT34 wouldn't be nearly so amusing  :D

After Apple scuppered last nights attempt at an update,I'll start this by saying there are pictures, but they'll have to wait for another time...I ain't loosing another essay to the joys of iOS7

24+25th October

After the traumas of Wednesday, the a Fit performed an awful lot better on Thursday and Friday .

Having taken care of the last of the unpacking of the order,I got to one of my absolute favourite parts of my job...putting new cars and stuff into my display cabinets. In doing this the fine screw driver saw lots of use...and I have to as as bad as the Fit is a knife, that's how good it is a screw driver! In using the driver,I saw what the biggest issue with the knife was...when the drivers are deployed, fine drivers,or the main bit driver, they sit in the centre line of the tool, just as the shaft of a normal screwdriver does. The blade on the other hand is only half the width of the tool,so unlike a SAK,or a stockman,or a Mora etc,the top of the blade follows the centre line, creating the unbalanced feel I was moaning about!

Aside from getting cars out,the Fit was posed with another interesting job...

We sell a type of semi liquid plastic, which can be blown into bubbles. Often kids are given these bubbles, and being kids, they throw them in the air,and they touch a spot light, burst and melt onto the light  One of one of the co session staff was struggling to peal this horrid mess of a spot. After a well deserved  :twak:,I offered him the Fit,with flat bit deployed to use as a scraper. After I few minutes,I realised that Tofty's Prybar would probably do a better job...but sorry Tofters, turns out the Fit was the tool for the job!

Who'd a thunk it?

Today's points of interest were more about other peoples thoughts and observations rather than my own use!

General opinion was positive and generally echoed my Origional thoughts about the tool set,and surprise at how bright the torch was! Mind you, these arn't EDC type folks  Its pocketablity was praised as well

Tomorrow sees another delivery...so back to the knife
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Intermission...

Thankfully no one has gone :worthless:

Yet....

So,for Cupboard, here's the Fit with the Boxer

To give you a flavour of some of the stuff I deal with every day, these are two of my displays

The cars shown are OO scale,or 1/76, the aircraft 1/400 scale

A tools ability to remove a toy car from is box and plinth is a key to its success or failure as an EDC item at the house of Kirk!

Well here's the first milestone of the test...the first working week is up,and I Havnt executed an act of violence upon the Fit  :D

This mornings delivery was nice and straight forward, and I seem to have found the technique for using the combo blade...box bashing is getting easier!

Today's first was using the torch in my favourite Saturday game of find the empty toy soldier box in the dank, deadly stock room. The torch is rated at 24 lumins, which probably isn't much to the flashlight fans here, but puts the Fit in the same sort of league as a Fenix E01. Its single mode, but worked well, just as well as the assorted single cell AAAs torches I've been EDCing. AND...and this is a big AND,it didn't end up burning my hand! Joy :D

The other thing that has impressed me about the Fit's torch is that it hasn't switched on in my pocket...I like that a lot. I once had a Tank switch on in my pocket and scorch my leg

But the weekends here, and its time to carry a SAK  :woohoo:

I used to think you need lots of lumens... until I tested the moonlight mode on my Olight S10 in a completely dark room (my bath room :D) You can definitely see your way around with only 0.5 lumens, so 24 should do just fine ;)

I agree. I have found that for indoor use there is actually such a thing as too bright. You'd be surprised what 10 lumens can do indoors much less 80+ lumens. I actually avoid certain lights for this reason - the ones that are too bright for my needs.

It all depends what I'm trying to do and how dark it is. Finding my way around the house, <1 is fine. Finding where some machinery has been parked in our yard then an E05 is fine because tractors are big and a different colour to their surroundings. Finding a cow across a big field then my Zebralight on full (heading for 200) is struggling because it's a long distance, you could probably only see the top half of the cow anyway and it's hedge coloured.

I can't help feeling that a CT29 or 34 would suit quite well here...
