Ouch ow argh my aching back :(
on:

Went today and had another spinal injection. He went a little far in and touched the nerve
. That sent pains shooting down my left leg and hip. Now after several hours it's no better and actually worse pain (this is my 4th shot and it's never been like this)
If I remember correctly, wait, what was I saying?

So sorry to hear. Is it a pinched nerve?

It's a rip in one of my disk. L1 I believe so it affects my hips legs and back. I just hope it's better by tomorrow as I have to go back to work.

I've blown disks in my back two times, both times the L5 disk. The worst thing I ever did with a blown disk was go to work. Had I stayed in bed like I was told I would have healed completely without surgery in 5 or 6 weeks. But I returned to work and eventually had to have surgery, was out for 10 weeks and never was 100%. Listen to your body when it's talking to you. Continuing to work with a blown disk is bad.

I seem to be becoming a wizened old fart too
Mine's not slipped discs, but I seem to be having to go to an osteopath a good few times every year just to keep things functioning as they should. Everything just seems to be knotting up and becoming immobile/excruciatingly painful for no good reason and needing a bit of manipulation to free it off again. This weekend and Monday I had a killer headache caused by my neck and shoulder muscles all being tight and knotted .... because I'd slept awkwardly
Thankfully I managed to sort that one out myself, and not have to pay out for it. I'm also very glad that the manipulation works so well for me and will give me a few months relief at a time without other intervention being required.
Hope you get some relief soon feller. I know how disheartening and debilitating it feels
Good luck pal

I have a rare form of arthritis called Anylosing Spondylitis which causes me constant back pain so I know how you feel...Stay Strong Man
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

I have a disc slipping out of place between the 4th and 5th vertebrae occasionally and it's not funny. In fact, I was in bed since last Sunday because of low back pain, no discs this time but an awful lot of pleasure...um, err, pain, I mean. Hope you're doing better now, tattoosteve.

Reading all the posts here brings back so many painful memories.
It seems a long time ago now - it's not even 18mths ago, but there was a time when I was subbing as a joiner/shopfitter etc that my back would constantly go. Pain like I would never have thought possible without passing out..seriously, shaking and sweating from trying to do very very basic day to day tasks like walking or sitting.. jeez, the pain back then would be so intense I often thought that was it - I would never get better again.
Today, I've now jacked all that joinery/shopfitting in, no more tying to pick up huge timbers, joists, panels, counters etc etc. No more walking round with massive overloaded tool belts on, No more hanging off ladders trying to get those last few screws in and in doing so putting myself in stupid precarious positions shaking with strain... I kid you not!
Now, working for an engineering firm, everything is monitored, no-one expects you to be superman and the "get it done regardless" attitude just doesn't exist. The downside is that the money is terrible, the upside is that I never work away, never work weekends and my body is working exactly as it should. To me that's worth far far more.
Really feel for you Steve, back problems are certainly no joke. Hope all is well soon my friend
I don't claim to know it all, but what I do know is right.
