Got my first EDC flashlight!!

Picked up a fenix pd32 today. Seems like a decent light for EDC use. Will have to carry for a week or two before I can say a whole lot about it.

Depending on how much you use it, consider getting some 18650 batteries and a charger for more economic running.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

Thought about that tonight. Also found out there is 700+ lumans model? Is there an easy way to do that to mine? Both are the pd32, but one has a different LED I assume...

Yes, you are referring to the PD32 Ultimate edition. This has now been superseded by the PD35, which does 850 lumens. Both use an XML emitter, compared to the XPG in your standard PD32. There is no easy way to modify your light.

All is not what it seems though. The lights with the XML emitters cannot sustain their maximum modes for very long, typically about 3 mins. At that light level, the emitter gets very hot, the small frame of the light cannot dissipate the heat fast enough, so the light will step down in brightness to prevent overheating.

The XML lights, with the small head and relatively shallow reflector will give you a big wall of light. Your XPG PD32 will give you greater throw.

If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.
