GERBER GRAPPLER or GRAPHLER
on: November 18, 2013, 04:37:45 AM
I was looking for a Gerber Grappler on E-Bay or Amazon when i came across this posting on Amazon.  The three photos on top show the logo of GRAPPLER. The bottom three photos clearly show the logo GRAPHLER.  Is this for real???  I emailed Gerber about it.  I am beginning to think Gerber may be one of the most pirated/ripped off multitool brands out there.

Good eye. Not sure why it is misspelled though. Obviously one of them is a fake. I believe it is the one spelled GRAPHLER. Let me do some quick research.

EDIT: Just checked and as I thought the correct spelling is GRAPPLER.

Here are pictures from the Amazon listing mentioned above. (I hope these pictures come through because the preview did not show them and I am new to this.)
Edit note:
Now the pictures are too small to see the logo clearly.  Rats!
Edit note 2:
Okay, you can expand them to see the logos clearly, but my photograph posting effort is nearly not so elegant as others I have seen on this site.  I will work on getting it right.

I'd say you did a pretty good job there  :tu:

When I'm posting a picture, if it's one I'm hosting on the forum I resize it to 800*600 or 640*480, attach it to the post then go back and edit the post using the link from the picture in
Code: [Select]
[img][/img] tags. That way the forum's hosting it (a good thing) and you have a viewable picture in the thread (a good thing) that isn't *HUGE* (also a good thing).

How very odd.  They look a heck of a lot like Gerber's own style of picture.  Some early promo shots perhaps?  Or a typo on a prototype?  No idea really.

Good spot though. :tu:

Could be, certainly look to be 'cleaned up' at the very least.

The reviews do not say that what they got is fake.
