The old SOG PowerPliers came in a blunt nose variation. They are a damn good tool if you can find one.(Image removed from quote.)(powerplier in front)
You got a model number for that blunt nose variation?I kind of like that one.
While I appreciate you Dad's not being over fond of the Swisstool/Spirit it really is the best tool for most job's and is well nigh unbreakable to boot , he might not appreciate it's strengths at first, but with a little use, I'm sure he'll love it
OK, thanks for the number.Thought I found one first, but look at this one on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310034892385&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:Watchlink:middle:usIt does not look like the needle nose like the one in your photo, yet the inside grip part of the pliers is different then the blunt on in your photo.

He might be more receptive to the swisstool than I think since I have'nt had much of a chance to show him mine. The only thing I was concerned about he swisstool is that the pliers don't open as much and the handles open much wider than the gerber. That's one thing I have to say that gerber has over most other multitools is that with the handles being parallel when the jaws are shut means that it can grip fairly large items without having the handles far apart, something most other tools can't do. Of course since the gerber can't seem to handle large and tough jobs might make that a moot point.
