Hehe, sorry about that! I don't know nuthin' bout flashlights, other than the Cabelas one is pretty damn bright right out of the box. For it to become so much brighter simply by dropping in this Q5 gizmo is pretty remarkable.

Being more of a follower than a leader, I was planning to just order the same one you did. It does just drop right in correct?

yes, super simple, open up the front, take out old, put in new!

it will take at least 2 weeks to get from china but when you get it (manilla envelope, in 2 layers of bubble wrapped)
do some testing with the old one in, then try out the new, like a tree or building or something (at night), and watch out even
if your bouncing off white walls! it'll get ya!

depends on the body/head diameter. These are for surefire 6P sizes/clones which is a specific model and size.

I'm new over here. Once I get settled and figure out how to post photos, I'll show you what my lathe and I have done with my specialty Cabelas flashlights!

It sure was strange to find that posting over here. Even with the vast Internet, it's still a small world!

BTW, after extensive testing of LED replacement modules, Wolf-Eyes has the nicest beam, but the best bang-for-the-buck is a Solar Force Q5 available on eBay.

I really like that light and used a chinese 235 L drop-in (from evil bay) that works great!

you did some great machining on yours, click on "Additional Options" under this box(when you reply, add a post) for adding your own pictures
(they can't be big, should say what size)

I just got my Lithium batteries for this light! Shhhhweeeet!

I got AW 17670 (1600mah) and R123As(750mah) "wow" is all I can say.
now I gotta wait for the charger (any day now) but they are fully charged.

I will post beam shots soon.

and I got the charger today!

we soldered (she) the internal connections inside
now the 2 top/side bays work! inside is a one layer circuit board
and it would take more labor for the people who made it
to do it themselves (connect all the bays)

that would bring the price up, (it's only 12 bucks with shipping now!)
so they left it unconnected.(those chinese)
but it was easy for us (her) to do.

now I don't need spacers for my R123As, I just put them
in the bay made for them
