I EDC a ZebraLight SC52. It's listed at 280 lumens on 1 AA battery. I run Energizer Lithiums in it. It works for me with lots of brightness when I need it and an easy step down when I don't.
But to add to your choices, look into the Zebralight SC52.
Thanks guys for your input. I'm still evaluating though the more I read and think about, the more I lean towards an AAA battery.
I've become a big fan of compact AA lights. I really like my ThruNite T10, but the ThruNite Saber 1A is that bit brighter: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?353888-Review-ThruNite-Saber-1A

Does the ThruNite work like -The Fenix E15, you screw it appart to turn it off (don't like that)or like-Maglite Solitair, you screw it thight to turn it off (I'm okay with that)

I actually cannot think of another manufacturer who does it like Maglite.
That's a shame, but I do understand. Looks like you are limited to clicky switches and maglites then. I've had a play with 50ft-Trad's Sunwayman V10R and I have to say I really liked it. Seemed very well built and I really liked the silky smooth adjustment ring.
It annoyed me to no ends when I got the E15, worst part the battery moves around when its turned off
