What's your latest MT?

My latest MT is this awesome mod:

Super Tool 300.



Had one of those urges to buy another MT, and it was pretty much down to the ST300, Diesel, Charge TTi and Juice S2.

ST300 didn't precisely win out so much as survive a process of elimination. The Diesel is awfully similar to the Pro Scout, though I still plan to buy one eventually. Charge TTi just seems like a glorified and overpriced Wave, and I really didn't care much for the Wave. Though frankly I'll probably end up buying a TTi eventually too and hating myself for doing so, as I have poor impulse control. Juice S2 just... doesn't look that great. If I want a small plier based MT I carry the pulse, the tools on the S2 don't look nearly as good.

So anyhow, ST300 won out.

I quite like it. Good solid tool considering the price. Fit and finish isn't perfect but it's pretty good, better than my Wave was (which constantly had the pliers catch on something when closing the tool.) Replaceable cutters are a nice touch. The results aren't quite as robust as the built in cutters on a SOG or full sized Swisstool, but you still end up with cutters more than capable for anything you should be doing with an MT, and I relish the thought of not having to take a file to yet another plier head.

A full sized Swisstool thumps it handily --it's lighter, it's slimmer, tools open from the outside (for those who care) and, best of all, it has the ever-desirable option of scissors. But the MT also costs quite a bit more.

If someone asked me what I'd but new as a cheap, robust, full sized MT, I could easily recommend it provided they needed no scissors.

My latest is the Wingman, even though I've had it a few weeks now.  I will say that for the most part, it has taken over the MT slot in my EDC lineup, and has thrown a monkey wrench into my rotation schedule.

I just purchased the last Gerber Fisherman Flik off amazon for a paltry £29. Which now completes Gerbers fisherman multitool timeline for me....... Mp400, 600, 650 and now the Flik.

Sure I read someplace that the Flik fisherman had been discontinued?? After the problems I had tracking the the others - I was gunning for the Flik.

I'll be more at ease when it actually turns up.
Very nearly bought one of the bay' last night - but jeez, how much??  Almost 3x the price including shipping!! .

Both of mine look like they are made by the same manufacturer who makes the later (cheaper) Carolina Knife & Tool version of the Multi-Plier (aka "Mr Pinchy").

You should buy the Juice S2.

I dunno, I like the concept of the tool a lot actually, but the price seems a bit exhorbitant for what you get (at least if I order off somewhere like amazon.ca... $55 is more than halfway to the price of a backup Pulse, and I think the Pulse hits the perfect MT sweet spot for anything less than full sized.) Feels like at that price it should at least have locking tools.
