this is what happens when you spend to much time here !
on: December 20, 2013, 04:41:37 PM
I've been lurking about  :MTO: for way longer than I've been a member, and it's starting to take it's toll on my sanity I think  ::) I had a Swisstool ! wasn't that keen on it ! sold it to someone here ! they loved it ! everyone was happy
it was my first real dealings with anyone here, and a totally pleasant experience. In fact I made a very good friend ....still the story is good !
BUT here's the kicker, I've just started to get sellers remorse and have found myself trolling the internet looking at prices  ::)
maybe I should get another
the things I didn't like much were
A) my old one didn't have scissors, I think scissors are a must (I'd be happier to have a swisstool x .... with ratchet set )
B) I didn't warm to the blade wobble on my old example, is that common ? (she hadn't been used/abused, that was they way she was new)

PLEASE ~ someone convince me I don't want/need another one.... or PM me if you want to sell one to a hopeless case

Maybe not a Swiss Tool but something different is what you need. There are so many different mt's for so many different needs. I won't tell you to buy another Swiss Tool though...

No, you don't need another Swisstool  ::).

Now I'm just going to add some random pics ...

P.S. Most of the Swisstools do have a bit more play on (some of) the tools than on the Spirit, but nothing you're going to notice while using them (not on the ones I have, at least  ;)).

although it was Kirky who relieved me of my original Swisstool Tom, I think YOU will get the blame for this one  ::)
you and your fantastic giveaway sparked my interest in the different variants of the swisstool (once more) and then I got to thinking about how cool it'd be to have 'proper' Vic scissors on a Spirit ! I'm not totally sold on the strange ones they put in there  they work fine but going to be a smurf to sharpen

No difference between the SwissTool and the Spirit?   :o  Look at those lovely rulers in those photos!  Rulers are essential.  For example, without a ruler Derek wouldn't have been able to have measured the 6.5 cm wingspan of the aeroplane.   ;) :D

Exactly!!

It's actually a very complicated mathematical solution that we use to calculate the wingspan of an A/C using a SwissTool.
First we hold it up and see how many centimetres they are.
Then we close one eye and and open the tool so that the handles are 90 degrees to each other.
Then we use the shadow and reflections to measure how far we are from the A/C to within a 72.3% error margin.
Then ***************************************************
Sorry, previous step is classified as class II restricted.
After all that, we use Google to look it up as we are all far too confused to as what we had just done.
