I have a set of 2 adjustable, collapsible Aluminium walking poles in the cellar - I´d send them over free if you pay shipping, but will have to evaluate if shipping makes this idea nonsense.
Leki makes a very lightweight adjustable set of poles which are extremely durable. I've used them for mountaineering a couple times, too.
Black diamond seems to be pretty popular with the backcountry/mountaineering crowd, their poles comes in 2 or 3 section and the metal flick lock (or whatever they are called) deploys quicker and holds stronger than the traditional twist lock. And if you desire, they also makes this version:(Image removed from quote.)
