2014 Resolutions anyone..?
on: January 01, 2014, 02:26:42 PM
First of all I need to loose 6,7 KG, so I'll end up on 78KG in all. I run 3-4 times a week, but still I've gained a bit too much weight over the last couple of months.  ::) So me and my better half decided to eat way more vegetables, have porridge for supper one day a week and cut back on candy, chips and wine in weekends.. So all in all I'm sure it gonna be fairly easy to lose those extra pounds..  :D

Any of you having any resolutions for the year to come?  :)

Nope, I don't do them, too much disappointment when you break them!

I don't do resolutions as such, but I do set an "annual target" to achieve throughout the year. For example last year was to bring in some extra money (which I eventually managed).

This year is to get fit, I am a stone and a half over weight so, as a by product of getting fit, I should also be able to shed the weight too  >:(

I resolve to be more active and do more things this year.  Things that I wanted to do but often didn't for whatever reason, and my goal is to eliminate as much of my debt as I can.  Obviously car and mortgage payments will continue, but I need to make a dent in my credit cards.  Of course, I resolved to do these things a few months ago and I have already been making progress on them, so they are not really New Year's resolutions.  Do they still count?

I figure if I manage to achieve both of those goals the weight will take care of itself.  For example, the credit cards are at a higher balance than they should be because I eat out too much.  I don't need to lose a lot of weight (fortunately) but I do need to shed about 20-30 pounds, or at least redistribute it from my mid section to my back and shoulders!  :P

Leave the dents as they are- let your belongings show their scars as proudly as you do yours.

I also don't so resolutions per se, what I do over the last quarter of the previous year is evaluate.  I then determine what more or less I can do and refocus myself.  I am a small business and as such need to hustle to stay working so areas I slacked or areas that weren't fruitful I adjust accordingly.  In personal areas I do very much the same thing, whatever was working I reinforce and whatever didn't I evaluate as to why and make adjustments or abandon altogether.

My resolution is to not make any resolutions. Stopped making them years ago because in my experience they never lasted more than a month or two.

I made that resolution many years ago and is the only one that I have been keeping.

I resolve to replace the countertop, stove, and oven in my kitchen, do the molding in my bathroom and an exterior door, firm up about half a dozen electrical outlets, and redo the sprinklers in my backyard. Maybe sod later this year. To be determined.

Otherwise, reach 200 pounds by 12/31 (currently 230, implemented my diet plan today), carry a black Executive as my only folder this year (every other knife is locked away, with a Mora Classic 2 as my outdoor knife), compete in the Corporate Games 5k in March or April in Ventura County, CA, and make it to the top of Mount Baldy sometime in May.

Career-wise, join NAPM, for networking and educational purposes, redo my resume, study for and take the CPIM or CPSM tests (supply/inventory management), and find a way to actually learn something new at work. I wanna be a Buyer 2!

That's it, I think.
