Prayers Sought
on: January 01, 2014, 09:30:44 PM
Hello folks,

This is Mark, a multi-tool newbie, who joined back in Sept 2013. If you are willing, I earnestly desire prayers for a speedy recovery and minimal complications from the quadruple coronary bypass surgery I had a week ago this Thursday.

A heart cath on Christmas eve showed I had a left main artery blocked 50% and 3 major arteries blocked 80%-90%. My initial symptoms going into the ER were chest pain and racing pulse.

Being tool junkies, I thought you would like to know that my surgeon must be one as well.  Instead of being placed on a heart-lung machine, the surgeon used a tool that held the portion of the heart in place (minimizing motion) while doing the grafting.  I don't know if this tool is his invention or the work of others, but I go back for a followup in about a week and will try to get some info.

I returned back home yesterday afternoon. Much thanks for any prayers or good thoughts you can give. I'm 60 yrs old but my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ must still have a lot of work for me to do!

 :tu:

Regards,
Mark (Woodkrafter)

Quadruple bypass surgery?  Nowadays that's not much more involved than repairing a hangnail!  Heck, that's barely worth the doctor getting off the golf course for!  Sir Ranulph Fiennes ran seven marathons in seven days just a few months after a mere double bypass.

Hang in there man- don't push your recovery too hard or you might set yourself back even further.  Prayers may help you get better, but don't forget to do whatever exercises your doctor has set out for you.

I wish you the very best for a full recovery! Don't listen too much to Def,or you'll end up cutting off a toe with a Remgrit blade on a Gerber 600
There is no beginning,or ending, and for this we are thankful, cos now is hard enough to understand!

Get well soon!  We call that operation a "cabbage" (coronary artery bypass graft = CABG).   :D
