Keychain-size Multis
on: May 27, 2008, 11:31:26 PM
I want to get my mom's doctor a gift of appreciation. I know nothing about his interests, but I want to get one of those keychain-size tools. I was thinking either a Victorinox or Leatherman only. I've never had any of these and wondered which was generally best. It can't be too big, just comfortably pocketable. Thanks for the help, Bill.

What is you got him a nice LM Micra. Or, if you want to go with a SAK then you could shoot for a Classic or I would recommend a Tinker. A Tinker is pocket able and it has a good list of features!

I'd go with a Squirt S4 model (scissors model) It's got a classy look that a Doctor would appreciate.
In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Thanks as always. I need to check and see what's available to me in these size tools. I've never bought one of those. As always, I appreciate it guys, Bill.

LM Squirt S4
LM Squirt P4
Vic Alox Classic
Wenger Swiss Clipper
Vic Alox Bantam (no lanyard ring, but ultra thin SAK & cheaper than all of the above)

(I think a LM Micra is a great tool, but not have the "gift appeal" of the above.)

That's exactly one of the reasons I asked you guys. The Vics seem to have a "giftier" appeal than the Leatherman. On the other hand, the Leatherman tools tend to be well thought out so I think I'll head to Target (the only dual dealer in my area) and have a look see. I haven't been able to get out lately, but may check them out tomorrow.

My sincerest thanks to you all, Bill.

A SAK Midnight Manager or a Leatherman P4 on a keychain are as good as you can do.  In my opinion anyway! ;)
