New Purchases
on: January 15, 2014, 03:12:16 AM
Bought the bit kit and removable bit driver to go along with the ST300 I got for Christmas. Now I just have to figure out how to carry it all in the nylon Leatherman sheath without feeling like it's about to explode. I realize I could probably carry the bit holder in one of the side loops on the sheath, but I'm a little worried about it falling out. Am I being paranoid or is there something I could do to ease my mind on that point? Thanks!

I have carried my bit extension in the little side holder for over a year and it has never fallen out.

You might want to check out the Skinth sheaths.  They are made by a member on here (so he knows what MT users want to put in their sheaths)

I have looked the Skinth's. Just trying not to spend any more money at the moment. I moved the bit holder to the side holder per colt 1911's suggestion. That seems to work pretty well at the moment.

I bit the bullet and got myself a Skinth OG for my Rebar and removable bit kit,  I got a Surge for my Birthday and it fitted the OG sheath, it also came with a LED Lenser P3 and 42 bit cards, I personally only use one of the cards with the most used bits from the two. I also upgrade to the Skinth Plus which fits the Surge better.

The only issue is once you buy one it's hard to stop, I have my third Skinth the Magnum coming this month and I even bought one for my Son who is wanting to get into  EDCing this year.

Couple of ideas I've seen to hold the bit extender in the side loop are,
Add a suitable size pen clip to it or just an elastic band around it to give it some grip.

I'm no fan of the batman-look, so i carry my LM on a pocket clip and my bits in a soft pouch. This makes for a rather comfortable and discrete carrying.

Anyway, enjoy the LM and make sure you carry it cause the best tool is the one you have available :)

I'd put a pen clip or find some small O-rings and put them on two of the three rings of the bit driver for added security inside the side loop of the sheath.

Another idea would be to find a keychain pill fob long enough to house the bit driver and keep it with your keys in your pocket.
