As luck would have it, I dug this one out for a change:

Love that loadout? On my second day of carrying I'm already thinking of swapping some of the Powerplier tools for scissors, they're just too handy, and who the hell needs a Robertson drive here in Europe?

I used the phillips to fix the microwave, though, so it will definitely stay there.

Since I always have a folding knife on me, going knifeless made sense, and allowed me to add scissors. I really lucked out with 'em, too. Those SOG scissors aren't the best, but that particular set is tight and cuts very well.

Yeah, the tool choice on the original PowerPlier was a little… odd. I'm seeing Robertson/square drive screw more often here in the US, but back then it was very much a Canadian thing. And the itty bitty penknife blade seemed like an afterthought. However, I do prefer the combo can opener / cap lifter, and good ol' flat drivers.

I considered swapping out my can open and cap lifter for PowerPlier parts, but couldn't stomach the idea of tearing apart a fairly rare too like that. Overall, I'm quite happy with it as is.

Same here. A good folding knife is better than basically any multitool in knife mode, IMHO. So my PPP and PL are knifeless. I will eventually make my SP2 knifeless, as well.

I still like having the blade on the PP, it is so soft I use it to make cuts whenever there's risk of damaging the blade (against rock, ceramic, steel, etc.) because it is a breeze to touch up or bend back.

But yeah, for heavy cutting a folder will always be better!

Carrying these two today

I am really loving my Powerplier after its first days as my EDC multi.

Brutally tough, it feels even stronger than my MP600 Blunt nose.

I wanted another BN multitool because the Gerber went to my emergency bag, and I like to always have a BN on my person, so I gave it a try. It is exceptional, I never thought I'd like it this much. Plus it also can be opened with one hand. That' a big plus for me and my needs.

And the tool loadout is really much better than the MP600s, and I can easily change it!

MTs: Surge (2x), Skeletool CX, Rebar, Blast, Fuse, Micra, Squirt (3x), Wave, Crunch, Mini, Spirit (2x), Pro Scout, MP700 (2x), Diesel, Powerlock, PowerPlier (2x), PocketPowerPlier, Blacktip , ST6 (2x), 5WR, A100
