Really,OMG! I hadn't realised it was this long since I'd done any work on Gordon's Folly!

As you can see,I've grassed in the two front quarters, and added trees to the left back quarter, though those are salvaged from some old Warhammer battlefield scenics I'd made years ago.

I'd love to,but for two things....

I don't have space to work in HO or OO,let alone whatever guage Lego runs on; and Lego trains make N look cheap!

Ground work in the last unoccupied corner is now done. I used the same layered cardboard, this time covered with pound store all purpose putty :D

Overhead view of the Boars Head

Placement of the barrels and cars isn't yet fixed. I like the idea of a couple of benches with drinkers, but they might be over budget. I've a SWB Series 1 Landy on its way

Ive had this USRA switcher for years, and it's never been a great runner. Yet it runs smoothly, and at very low speed round the Folly!

:woohoo:

I always wanted to set up a giant track that went from room to room, floor to floor and all over the house.  You know, like you start the train and don't see it again for an hour or so!  :D

And with the scenic background added

I still haven't decided on whether I want the church on the layout, and I still need to sort out the pub gardens;and I really need to get the ballasting on the track sorted out.

I ordered up a set of people last night,so hopefully,we'll see the inhabitants of Gordon's Folly in the near future :D

That railroad has a pretty good selection of motive power considering its a one-track short line.   :tu:

Yeah...motive power

The  little Bachmann MDT switcher is rated as being pants...but mine is a real little trooper, mind you,I did pretty much strip and rebuild it,but it just eats up the tight curves.

My British tank engines are a bit iffy. My J94 Austerity is now set aside for the Folly, but it's bigger diameter wheels are a bit of an issue, and I'll need to remove the buffers.

The USRA switcher runs ok on light loads, but I suspect there's an issue with the rear boogie on the tender fowling on the coupler...

Shame,I'd planned for steam, but it looks like it's going to be a diesel line!

You probably mentioned it some where, but what scale?  HO?

N scale!

If I were going to do an articulated loco,it'd be a SAR Bayer-Garrett ,although I doubt even one of the old narrow gauge ones would run on the Folly!

Mind you,if I get get at the right price() I wouldn't mind a Shay!

B-Gs are neat, and they were designed for poorly laid roadbeds.  Go for it!

On the other hand you may not have a long enough section to put them on.

Farish J94 Austerity striped to remove the buffer, and for repainting. Still tossing up between spacemarine blue to match the MDT, or look up War Dept. colours

Couple of close ups
