Scissors
on: May 31, 2008, 04:19:19 AM
What in anyone's opinion are the best scissors on a MT  :multi: and also seperately on a SAK  :climber: type tool? I like the scissors on my Pulse pretty good but the PST2 had them beat with that design (wonder why the change?).  I am mainly LM dependent so really have any others to compare and would like info on other brands with there scissors.  I don't put pics up really but if anyone would like to it would be appreciated  :D

Personally I haven't been fond of any of the scissors on the multitools I've tried with the exception of the micra style tools.

Even the SURGE!!!, that has probably the best scissors of any of the full size LM's left me wanting. It was awkward to use, and dug into my finger. Ditto on the SOG's, Victorinox's, etc.

So I carry a micra. Added side effect being the nail file is easier to use on my nails than the diamond file on my charge.

I don't have many multitools with scissors, but the Gerber Diesel has the best i've tried.

I think scissors on victorinox mt's and knives are very nice, recently since I am leatherman fan think LM's scissors are excellent, perhaps little small on charge models but I like them.

i have used them all and firt i will say i dislike sog the most. the wenger has a great design and a good spring, the vic spring is not as nice but the truth is the vic will cutter more stuff from thread and wrappers to credit cards. i also like leatherman but it would be a tie between the surge and vic. I like shears on a tool like the tradesman shears, decent scissors. gerber are alright also, i believe it is the freehand i like.

I have gotten used to the SURGE scissors, so I'm used to them.. I also like the: Juice scissors, current LM scissors, older style LM scissors, the Spirit scissors, and lastly my Flik scissors are pretty good too. I like the newer LM scissors because they cut so precisely.. I don't like the scissors found on the 800 Legend etc.. I also don't like SOG scissors. On SOG's webiste they claim that their scissors are the best in the business. Which is BS! They are very uncomfortable!
