Hi from Auckland, New Zealand
on: February 11, 2014, 08:13:19 AM
Hey guys,
First post on the forum here. I'm based in Auckland, New Zealand. I'm a keen hunter, shooter and fisherman, I'm right into offroading, I do quite a bit of amateur woodwork (including dabbling in boatbuilding) and obviously as a result I've got a bit of a collection of pocket knives and multi tools

Here are some of my leathermens. I EDC a Blast (which is by far my favourite leatherman I've used), and as you can't buy them anymore I've got two spares locked away in my gun safe. I've also got a bunch of victorianox swiss army knives, but they don't get a lot of use.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm an ex-Aucklander now living in Brisbane. Made the move in '95 and only been back for a couple of trips.

Grew up in Pakuranga, lived in Laingholm before I moved.

You'll like it here, but be warned, the forum is populated by the biggest group of enablers you could ever meet. Expect your collection to grow  :D

welcome mate
Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Welcome. :waving:

We'd love to see some of your woodworking projects too, we have a thread on those here somewhere.

Found it --> The Wood Working Thread

And those SAKs (Swiss army knives) interest us too. :D Maybe you have something special and don't even know it. ;)

Thanks PTRSAK. You probably feel right at home. There's probably more kiwi's in Brisbane than there are in New Zealand :P

What cash? I have two 4x4's, a bunch of guns and reloading gear and a girlfriend. There's nothing left at the end of all of that :D

Hey enki_ck. I'll make my way over to the woodworking category soon, but for now here's just a couple of pics of the dinghy I'm building. It's much further along than these pictures. Currently sealing it so nearly there!

I'll make sure I dig out my other knives for a photo too.

So here's some (not all) of my other knives and multi tools as well. The smallest and largest swiss army knives were my dads (and are probably older than I am).

Some of my favourite hunting knives. The Buck (green handle) is an awesome knife. Got a bit much of a point for skinning though. But when hunting I always carry that, my Mercator (thin black handled folder) and the big Dakota (which is a cheap knife, but it's very thick and rounded enough for skinning and finishing off anything if necessary).

I've got half a dozen mercator knock offs, a few small Gerber tools (couple of shortcuts etc) and all sorts of other crap like that around the house.

… Maybe I do have a little bit of a problem?
