Picked up two more 58mm's...
on: March 10, 2014, 02:15:25 PM
I've been thinking about picking up another 58mm Victorinox for quite a while. Until yesterday, I had a Bijou and a Classic SD. I had been thinking about a Rally or Rambler, but just never had the push I needed. That changed when I went to Lowe's yesterday. They had a two pack of Rally's on clearance for $13. One for me, and one for my girlfriend. :) I haven't had a chance to do much with it yet, but I've heard great things about the screwdriver.

Wow, I have to go check out my local Lowes. I love the under estimated 58mm's.  :tu:
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

Might just have to venture to my local Lowes as well. Wonder if it's just your location though? Most likely but at least it'll give me something to do.

You'll enjoy the Rambler the mini Phillips mostly fits small screws that are normally associated with various electronics. Controllers, smaller appliances, toys and such.
Mine never gets used to be honest, but the bottle opener sure did. The Phillips tip is magnetic, if the charge runs out and metal isn't sticking to it just rub it against a stronger magnet and it'll charge it right up.

You may want to look into a Midnight Manager; newer model with white LED. It's simply a Rambler with the scales housing the TP&T replaced by an LED and pen. Which from my experience as an suburban to urban dweller is more useful.

Either way enjoy...
Also people want to see pics. We always love looking at SAK porn.

Oops, mistook Rally for Rambler, and me just rambling on. :D

I'd mod the Rally and make a Rambler. Love Victorinox's scissors.

I never leave home without my Rambler which I keep on my keychain. I also never leave home without my Wave and bit kit or Style CS.  :D :salute:

I will have to look at Lowes for the rally 2 pack.

The midnight magager made me really appreciate the 58 mm.  Brighter light than the 91mm light on my spartan lite.

With a rally you can not go far wrong. And $ 13 for 2 is low price. Personally, I would however also recommend midnite manager. Has additionally scissors, light and pen. Thats simply practical.
If you want to be happy, be.

I've always got my eye for more 58mm... of course, there's not too many more models that I need.

I saw a two pack of Rally's at a Lowe's in Lafayette, LA for $20 a few months ago. I saw the two packs at a Lowe's in Abbeville, LA for $13 this weekend.

They had one sapphire/ruby, a couple of black/red, and a couple of american flag / red sets.
I took home the sapphire/ruby pack. :)

I had been debating between the rally and the rambler. I like the idea of having the scissors, but I also like the idea of the thinner 58mm... Besides, I EDC a Compact, so I have scissors.
