Interesting Vic on eBay
on: March 12, 2014, 07:00:13 PM
Just saw this on eBay:  http://bit.ly/1fuLZTO

Is it a real one or a knock-off?  I've never seen one with that small clip point blade and square-shank Phillips.

Let me give it a try: Victoria Fieldmaster. Clippoint small blade means pre-1973, square-back Philips, pre-1992.

How did I do?  :pok:

It looks so odd... I mean in many ways it looks like a modern Vic... Red Cellidor, modern looking Shield, Keyring... but then you've got all the old stuff too... clip-point blade, sq. screwdriver, no toothpick or tweezers.

I feel kinda like I just saw a senior citizen walk by using Google Glasses...

It's real, and it's a 91mm Fieldmaster from c. 1972. Clip point pen blade and Victoria main blade = pre-1974. Keyring and lack of +PAT on the can opener means post-1971. Closer to the 1971 side of things looking at the file on the Phillips and the scissors.

Wow that was some Sherlock Holmes right there! :D  I can just imagine a whole plot of a murder mystery detective novel revolving around the date of a sak :D
