I have toyed with the idea of making just the single opener layer (cap lifter/can opener) with a backsprung Philips to complement my china fork&spoon hobo CAK (blade removed) for international flights out of Sydney. The way I see it, cheap & disposable, if I'm feeling rich I'd go the scissor layer. Another cool thing if your worried about the can opener is to grind of the 'beak' so you have a straight flat screwdriver, if you do it right you will still have a sharp edge on one side for cutting string etc
I have forgotten a descaled victorinox bantam countless times on domestic flights. I really need to stop being such a irresponsible citizen in that respect. Eventually my luck will run out.
