Buck 355 TiNi FS on ebay
on: May 26, 2014, 05:03:50 PM
Just run a search for it and you'll see it. $50 BIN with, a little high, $10 for shipping. Looks to be in great shape. It's listed as just a buck 355, no mention of TiNi coating, but pics definitely show that.

Not to be ignorant, but is that a good price for thus model?

Not knowing much about Buck multitools is why I ask.

Likely should have asked about it before I bought it.  :multi:

Don't own any made by Buck though.

Thanks! Joe

Yes ! This would have to be quite a rare tool - quite a good buy for only $60.00  :salute:

Likely should have asked about it before I bought it.  :multi:

Oh well, saved me from spending more $$$ on a tool I didn't even know existed until now (I only knew about the TiNi BuckTool 360 )

I tried to find the listing on ebay.com but I couldn't find it using Buck 355 in sold listings, was it called something slightly different or is something odd happening to my ebay search ?

Can't find it either, probably only available for US, so hidden for non US folk.

Is this the one?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BUCK-KNIVES-BUCK-LITE-355-USA-MULTI-TOOL-RETIRED-COLLECTIBLE-w-CASE-NEAR-MINT-/351065931376?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51bd28fe70

That one is still for sale.

Try clicking on the left of the search button on Advanced, then enter your search term, add a checkmark on sold and/or on completed listings, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Search there.

That's how you can check for completed listings. Very useful for checking current pricing on items you're interested in.

Thank you guys for the feedback on this one. I guess I did ok then. For once. ;)

Another dumb question - the TiNi indicates that the tool is titanium nitride coated?

Yep. TiNi gives a thin, tough, corrosion resistant coating to metals which also looks very nice ( a shiny, gold appearance).

It's a bit hard to tell from those photos, but that tool doesn't look as "golden" as my TiNi SOG MTs.  ???  Please let us know what you think when it arrives.

Hmmmmm, first time I've had this problem ( I have a US address as my default address for eBay/PayPal, and also have my "real" address in Oz), but with eBay I guess anything is possible.

I once had issues with one seller who had blocked non-US PayPal payments even though it was going to a US address, then he reported me for non-payment !!!!   ::)  (mind you, this individual was a real arrogant so-and-so).

 Thanks much you guys for helping educate me on this purchase. I'll give a run down when it arrives.

I normally have a Vic Spirit X so I'll be curious how it compares.

And thank you neillcurrie for the heads up.  :tu:

My gut feeling is that that is a standard tool photographed in yellow light; things like the rivets being the same shade seems odd for a coating.
