The knife - while SAKalike is a fittting description - is a quality product made by Richartz in solingen, sadly they moved production from Germany to China and cut some corners quality wise a few years ago.
The scissors are Richartz and belong to that knife, it´s not a mod. You could order most Richartz Knives in black coated or plain stainless but the scissors have always been stainless - I guess it is because they used a Teflon or similar coating and not BO and scissors would look bad soon or not work properly.I have pictured some other variants here:http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,58327.0.htmlRichartz uses a whale as a logo, some knives are marked Richartz, some Ricardo and some only say Solingen.I would rate the scissors below Victorinox and above some Leatherman ones.
